Hi everyone!
I know that it's still quite early to think about moving, because I have two months left before that, but I still have so much things to do before that. All the insurances, Kela papers and etc. I have studied Russian language at school and on my own with friends. It's a blessing to have friends from other countries so you can learn so much from their culture. :)
I have been reading few other blogs that have wrote about living in St. Petersburg and have discovered many useful facts from those. In those texts people claim that if something doesn't work or go to way it should've you can just chill and say Это Россия = This is Russia. :D I also know that by knowing the basics for example asking "Вы говорите по-английски" which means "Do you speak English?" is crutial because many people speak that but claim that they don't.
I was quite surprised that it takes almost 3 minutes to get to the metro station under ground! Quite different when you compare it to the Finnish metro station. :D
Here's some basic information gathered from the internet:
Don't drink water anywhere else than in the bottle. Keep copy of your passport with you at all time. Some of the stores are open 24 hours and some are open till 10 or 11pm. And also that clubs are open till 6am. Quite different than in Finland! :D
I have already had info from the dorm I'm going to live in, I have to have my own stuff in kitchen, place is well watched and all the instruction and all, I'm so confused right now! But so happy that the "Where do I live?" -part is finished. :)
Xoxo - Jennina
